The flight WI-495 that was travelling from Faro in Portugal to Dublin.
It landed in Shannon a little after 8.20 p.m. last evening immediately after the crew of the flight declared that the airplane probably had a problem with a certain hydraulic system of the jet.
The Airbus A320-220 jet was carrying 102 passengers on board. It was approached by emergency vehicles soon after it confronted with the hydraulic issue. Just prior to the landing of the flight, the pilot told the controllers that the aircraft might be disabled on the runway after it lands.
Then, the flight had managed to land safely around 8.22 p.m. after which it was met by fire crews of the airport.
Thereafter, the jet stopped on the runway for a certain amount of time to let the engineers inspect the aircraft thoroughly.
The plane was carried to the terminal. Here, further inspection was performed on the aircraft.
Earlier during yesterday, Aer Lingus flight EI-660 that was travelling to Vienna from Dublin had to make an emergency landing in Frankfurt after an aged woman fell ill on board the flight. The woman was unresponsive. So, she had to be offered medical treatment by a nurse and her co-passengers. When the flight arrived in Frankfurt the lady was taken to the hospital.
