The municipality of Barreirinhas (MA) will receive a group of professionals from the Ministry of Tourism, Brazil to identify the potential of the destinations that make up the Route of Emotions starting September 11.
At the end of the visit, a strategic development plan will be prepared, which will include infrastructure, environment, safety, connectivity, tourism promotion and events, as well as institutional strengthening. The work will be accompanied by public, private managers and the community of municipalities.
In an international agenda, the Minister of Tourism, Marcelo Álvaro Antônio, stressed that the initiative seeks to strengthen the use of regional vocations.
“We have already begun a new era in Brazilian tourism. We will visit each place, know the reality and the adversities of these regions, so that, together with the municipal and state governments and businessmen of the sector, we can develop the tourism potential of the main regions of the country, such as the Route of Emotions,” he said.
The route includes 14 cities of Maranhão, Piauí and Ceará, as well as environmental protection areas, such as Jericoacoara National Park, on the west coast of Ceará; the Parnaíba Delta, between Piauí and Maranhão, and the Lençóis Maranhenses National Park.
With a mix of culture, natural beauty and history, the itinerary enchants tourists who travel the region, one of the most famous in the country.
The coast of the Route is suitable for surfing, windsurfing and kitesurfing, among other water sports. The sun and beach scenery integrates nature with delicious regional cuisine. The tourist still travels through the fascinating northeastern culture and the different crafts of the three states. They are vegetable fibers (buriti, tucun, cattail, coconut, carnauba and sisal), wood, ceramics, bobbin lace, embroidery, leather, seeds and shells.
