At IFA’s Media Reception in Las Vegas the IFA partners and exhibitors Gfk, Alibaba, botspot and DJI presented a market outlook, retail-strategies and latest product innovations in the fields of technical consumer goods, 3D scanners and drones to 100+ Journalists.
The first guest at the IFA Media Reception, hosted by Dave Graveline (Into Tomorrow), was Juergen Boyny, Global Director Consumer Electronics, GfK Retail and Technology who presented an up-to-date market overview: “Consumer Electronics and Home Appliances will continue to grow until 2020 and even beyond. Decisive regions for growth are China, with its by far biggest market; South East Asia and India will develop by a continuous upgrade of household equipment. All these markets are driven by innovation”.
Picking up on Boyny´s forecasts Dr. Christian Goeke, CEO Messe Berlin underlined that the right time to bring global brands to China is just now. “CE China will build on the huge success of the IFA concept, with its focus on brands, their innovation and products. CE China will strive to display the cutting-edge technology in the consumer electronics and home appliances industry providing a professional platform for buyers, consumers and companies”.
CE China is a global IFA event and designed to be China’s premier trade show for consumer electronics and home appliances brands; its launch will take place in Shenzhen, China, from 20-22 April 2016.
Also, Chinese number one online-retailer Alibaba is backing the CE China concept. At the IFA Media Reception Mr. Yin Jing, President of 3Cs & Home Appliances Business Unit Alibaba Group, said: “We will bring Internet thinking and data together to host an unusual electronic exhibition, the CE China, which I believe will be an unprecedented and unparalleled event in the industry.”
What 2016´s IFA has in store?
Berlin-based company botspot that ranks among the leading specialists for professional 3D scanners displayed their latest product highlight. Manfred Ostermeier, CEO & Founder botspot said: “The new industrial revolution is 3D – botspot opens the door into this new technology”.
Another hot topic was covered by the market leader in easy-to-fly drones and aerial photography systems – DJI, Adam Najberg, Global Director of Communications stated: “You should know that DJI is more than just a drone company. If you leave here with but one takeaway, it’s that DJI’s mission is to make complex technology simple and available to anyone who wants to use it”.
The closing statement was given by Georgia McCabe, CEO PMA – the Photo Marketing Association International: “As demonstrated by all these IFA-Partners Imaging has never played a more important role in all our lives. With over a trillion photos being taken each year, imaging is driving innovation across industries and technologies like never before. From new ‘capture’ technologies such as drones, to new ‘outputs’ such as 3D printing, developments in digital imaging are touching almost every aspect of consumer and home electronics. It has never been a more exciting and dynamic time in the industry.”
