InterContinental Hotels Group, IHG, one of the world’s leading hotel companies hosted an event at InterContinental Chennai Mahabalipuram Resort and Crowne Plaza Gurgaon to showcase their portfolio of brands present in the region. Guests were taken on a spectacular IHG journey that highlighted the hallmarks of its four key brands – InterContinental Hotels & Resorts, Crowne Plaza Hotels & Resorts, Holiday Inn Hotels & Resorts and Holiday Inn Express.
At InterContinental Chennai, guests were welcomed in true InterContinental spirit with traditional drummers and doormen dressed in typical Tamil costumes. During the evening speciality dishes were cooked in a live sand pit, churrascaria style, to recreate the rich recipes of generations ago while noted flutist Milind Date performed live. Guests attending the event at Crowne Plaza Gurgaon, listened to celebrated Sarod Masters Amaan and Ayaan Ali Bangash who were accompanied by Grammy nominated violinist Elmira Darvarova.
Shantha de Silva, Head of South West Asia, IHG said: “We have a long and successful history of operating here so we wanted to bring together our key clients and contacts in the industry and share with them the IHG story for South West Asia. The event enabled us to provide our audiences with an insight into our company, our presence and our future plans in a creative and engaging way that was enjoyed by all.”
IHG currently operates 28 hotels across four brands in India, including: InterContinental, Crowne Plaza, Holiday Inn, and Holiday Inn Express with a further 41 in the development pipeline due to open within the next three to five years.
