Four Seasons Hotel des Bergues Geneva has been awarded its first Michelin Star at Il Lago – the only Italian restaurant in French-speaking Switzerland to be honoured with this prestigious accolade.Led by Executive Chef Saverio Sbaragli who has been at the Hotel since its opening, the dishes are influenced by fare from northern Italy with touches of the Mediterranean. Supported by Chef Marco Garfagnini, Chef Andrea Mazzoni – both having achieved a Michelin Star previously – and Chef Patissier Jean Marie Roger, Il Lago offers the finest combination of ingredients, flavours and gastronomy in Geneva, complimented by the team’s skill and knowledge.
Il Lago also boasts Fabio Masi as Chef Sommelier, who was awarded Best Sommelier in Switzerland in 2012.Commenting on the award, General Manager José Silva said: “I am thrilled Il Lago has been awarded a Michelin Star, which highlights the professional credentials of the team that have brought us to where we are today. This recognition comes at a very important time for the Hotel, as next year we celebrate our 180-year anniversary. We have also just launched our Spa Mont Blanc that will set a new level of luxury in Geneva, as well as the opening of Japanese-fusion rooftop restaurant IZUMI.”
Dishes at Il Lago are prepared using traditional methods to create the finest cuisine that stays true to the ingredients, offering an unforgettable experience to guests. Signature plates range from beef carpaccio with black truffle to lobster risotto and glazed goat kid.
The city’s first hotel and the first choice for leisure and business travellers, the property has been a landmark on Lake Geneva since 1834. Since opening as Four Seasons Hotel des Bergues in November 2005, it has blended a revitalized sense of history with comfort, relaxation and warm, genuine personal service.
