Turning heads across the global luxury travel trade industry towards the ever-burgeoning Qatar peninsula, Seren Event Management Company (SerenEMC) has announced that its inaugural Middle East Luxury Travel Show (MELTS) – a platform dedicated to bringing the unique allure of the Middle East closer to savvy international clientele – is to take place in Doha from February 16-19, 2014.
“MELTS has been designed to motivate and support the progression of the luxury travel and tourism industry in the Middle East by creating outstanding opportunities for communication, heightened exposure and knowledge enrichment on a regional and international level,” remarked Alexandra North, managing director, SerenEMC. “Qatar’s Vision 2030 embraces a synergistic philosophy in this respect, and with its world class infrastructure, devotion to excellence and provision of outstanding experiences, the country will undoubtedly make the perfect host for this debut edition.”
According to North, the announcement of the host destination has caused a substantial wave of excitement amongst the hosted buyers. “Qatar is currently under the spotlight for its sporting and meeting capabilities, as well as its international drive for tourism prowess, and this has fuelled their significant interest in the destination. Upon naming the host destination of Qatar, there was a notable surge in interest globally from the buyer segment. They are immensely enthusiastic about experiencing, first-hand, the magic of Qatar.”
MELTS 2014 is being brought to Qatar’s capital with the objective of providing opportunities to explore and discover the latest trends and offerings for high end travel experiences across the Middle East region, as well as increase international traffic to the region both intra-regionally and from further afar. In a concerted effort to distinguish itself on the luxury event landscape, MELTS – an invitation only event – aims to provide an elevated business-to-business platform that is innovative, inspiring, creative and result-driven, with the structured four-day programme including such elements as; an enrichment conference, three days of pre-arranged meetings, three evenings of networking in some of the finest and most inspirational venues in Qatar, a presentation programme and pre/post-show familiarisation trips.
