The Minister of Investment Mr. Osama Saleh, Minister of Civil Aviation Eng. Abdul Aziz Fadel, and Dr. Galal Mostafa Cairo Governor inaugurated the Novotel Cairo Airport’s new extension owned by the Arab Company for Tourism & Investments (ACHTI) who were welcomed by Mr. Mohamed Shafik, the Chairman and Managing Director of ACHTI & Mr. Philippe Trapp, the Vice President Operations Accor Egypt.
Novotel Cairo Airport’s is an ideal choice for business trips or quick transits as it’s known for its strategic location; close to the Cairo International Airport. The inauguration was attended by Mrs. Mervat Hataba, the Charge D’Affaires of the Holding Company for Tourism, Hotels and Cinema and senior management in the Ministries of Investment & Tourism in addition to chairmen of business companies and joint ventures operating in tourism.
The opening ceremony commenced with a welcoming speech by Mr. Shafik who illustrated that, the new extension with a total investment of 95 million pounds financed by the Arab Company for Hotels & Tourism, is a great addition to Novotel Cairo Airport offering wider range of facilities and services, to meet the demands of guests in diverse needs from business travellers to leisure seekers.
The new extension features an additional 114 spacious and light rooms-designed by Atome Associés bureau-which increased the total hotel capacity to 321 rooms and suite. In each room there is an ergonomic writing desk and free Wi-Fi, as well as a doc-station and a Philips connectivity panel.
An additional 550 square meters meeting space with state-of-the-art-equipment featuring a banquet, 2 meeting rooms and foyer for business oriented visits. The meeting room breaks the usual codes of meetings and offers a unique experience, combining two often contradictory notions; efficiency and comfort.
The new extension includes the establishment of a spacious restaurant with a capacity of 130 covers, overlooking the swimming pool and the garden. The restaurant has been designed with contemporary decoration, the latest equipment and tools, besides abiding by the new safety and health specification approved by the Ministry of Tourism.
In balance by Novotel fitness center is waiting for those who look for relaxation after a business day or an exhausting flight. Guests will undoubtedly appreciate a wide variety of leisure facilities including fitness and wellness areas, swimming pool & gardens.
The Hotel Staff and their facilities were highly considered in the project since the early stages, the facilities were designed according to the international and Accor norms and specifications aiming to have enough space and the feel of comfort, making novotel “best place to work”.

Mr. Philippe Trapp expressed his immense pleasure over the new extension. “We are very proud of this partnership with (ACHTI) and keen on maintaining this partnership that initially started back in 1981 and was the first Accor hotel management contract signed outside Europe.” We have been exerting all efforts and harnessing all our experiences for improving our products and providing the best services to our guests, he added.
It is worth mentioning that the Arab Company for Tourism & Hotels (ACHTI), the owners of the Novotel Cairo Airport Hotel is an Egyptian Joint Stock with an authorized capital of 250 million pounds. The paid capital is 140 million pounds, and the Egyptian General Company for Tourism and Hotels (EGOTH) contributes in it with 71.3% , the Cairo Airport Company with 17.1% and the Arab Investment Bank with 11.6%.
