The capital city of India is set to get a brand new Madame Tussauds museum in the middle of 2017. The 22nd international wax museum will open its doors to the visitors at the Regal Cinema in Delhi’s Connaught Place in the summer of 2017.
After the inauguration, the visitors will be able to get a glimpse of the wax figures of international and national icons including Kim Kardashian, Amitabh Bachchan, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Sachin Tendulkar and many more. It has been known that the museum will consist of two floors in the heart of Delhi.
Headquarter of the Madame Tussauds is placed in England’s Dorset and the wax museums are run by Merlin Entertainment. At present, the Madame Tussauds museum in London is considered to be the largest and most popular among the tourists. The museum in London consists of statues of Indian icons like Mahatma Gandhi, Narendra Modi, Sachin Tendulkar and Aishwaria Rai.
According to the chief new openings officer of Merlin Entertainment, John Jakobsen, ever since they introduced Amitabh Bachchan as the first Bollywood figure in Madame Tussauds London in 2000, they have seen how Madame Tussauds appeals to the Indian consumer, and having a permanent attraction in the heart of the country’s capital made perfect sense for the evolution of the Madame Tussauds story.
The general manager of Merlin Entertainment in India, Ansul Jain has informed that the feel and design of the museum will be connected to Delhi.
After the opening of the new museum, the travellers will be able to witness the lifelike wax statues in the middle of the Indian capital.
