Recently, the tourism ministry of India declared that it’s all set to create few government-run offices in some of the important markets like the US, the UK and Russia to draw more tourists to the country.
Rashmi Verma, the tourism secretary of India informed ET that it will develop facilitation centres where the queries of tourists will be addressed at the airports in Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai and Bengaluru as well.
This month, incredible India 2.0 campaign will take off shortly as Verma says that the ministry will conduct market-specific campaigns in various countries with the help of local and electronic channels along with digital media.
To quote Verma, “a synergy between Incredible India campaign and overseas markets will get us better results. Our offices in different countries would work on a hub and spoke model which will be in sync with our PR agency. This time the states are also complementing our plans and the industry can plan campaigns around it. Our spends are higher than last year.”
