At present, the Indian government is more keen on taking initiations to make travel and tourism events digital. This new approach has been introduced to change the traveling style of both international and domestic tourists.
Lately, booking of entrance tickets and similar travel arrangements have been changed so far. Now, a tourist can book tickets even before they start their journey to India. Over 116 monuments across the country can now be witnessed via booking through e-tickets. Also, these services are now available on mobile phones, allowing travelers to enjoy the benefits of digitization from the new e-platforms. Whereas, travelers in a particular monument can utilize their phones to access the audio-visual guides. Besides, they can combine those guides with venue-specific barcodes encapsulating complete information.
To quote an official of the tourism sector, “the 1363 helpline in 12 languages is a unique effort. It is available nowhere in the world. You may find the local language and English but here we have a mix of languages spoken by tourists. So there is an ease of experience.
We have made e-ticketing for 116 monuments where you do not need to stand in a queue. Now you can start from your hotel or even your country with the e-ticket for that particular monument. There is a barcode chart accessible on your mobile that has complete information on a site or organization.”
