The park will be set up by Broadcaster Turner International India and Gujrat-based Rajgreen Group. The young visitors will be able to enjoy popular characters like Ben 10, The Powerpuff Girls and Adventure Time.
Siddhart Jain, MD, South Asia, Turner India said that this type of association will help in engagning the fans in a new way, the time spent on linear television is coming down and there are similar formats globally. India is a priority market for Turner and the company opted for Surat as it offered the right catchment with adequate disposable income.
This will be Turner’s third global arrangement, earlier it had a model in IMG Dubai and CN Amazone Water Park, in Thailand.
There will be 20 unique water-slides, 33 theme-based attractions that will be spread across an area of 61,000 sq m. The park will boast of four major sections- a theme park branded by Cartoon Network, a water park, a family recreation hub, service apartment and a retail shopping area.
Sanderson Group, Australia will be conceptualizing and designing the theme park.
Sanjay Movaliya, the Chairman of Rajgreen Group said that the current audience is well-travelled and knows about the global entertainment venues. Their main purpose is to provide a similar experience closer home with association like Cartoon Network.
Amaazia is expected to be a top entertainment destination in the country aiming to ttarct approximately 1 million visitors during the first year of its operation. As per the KPMG report the Indian theme park industry showed a 10.25 per cent increase in 2016 reaching Rs.2,930 crore, up fro 2,660 crore in the year 2015.
