Krishna K.U Hannan, Indonesian Embassy’s Minister Counselor (Economic) said that measures are being undertaken to upgrade the tourism infrastructure of Indonesia with an aim to lure more tourists from Malaysia.
Hannan said that the cultural attractions of the country are being promoted at the international level.
He went on to add that on the government side, they have been targeting 20 million foreign tourists to visit Indonesia within 2019. Besides, they have also started promoting interesting locales for halal tourism in Indonesia, he said at the Indonesia Street Bukit Bintang Fiesta 2017 at the Pavilion.
Rizki Handayani Mustafa, the promotions director of Southeast Asia was also present there.
Krishna mentioned that in 2016, as much as 200,000 Malaysian tourists had arrived in Indonesia and this year the number is expected to increase. He said that Indonesia is looking forward to attracting a large number of Malaysian tourists this year since the country is trying to promote tourist attractions and privileges for them here.
