Indonesia is optimistic that its regional tourism sector would be boosted to a great extent thanks to the south Asian as well as Indian market. It hopes to achieve its dreams by participating in different travel expos that are being held in India and these regions in the month of February.
The expos include OTM that is India’s Outbound Travel Mart that is scheduled for 21st to 23rd February in the Bombay Exhibition Centre (Mumbai).
Also, a regional tourism event known as South Asia Tourism and Travel Expo (SATTE) that would be held from 15th to 17th February at Pragati Maidan at New Delhi would witness the presence of Indonesia.
SATEE is a very popular business event that is attended by sellers and buyers.
It attracts 3,50,000 people from as many as 40 countries. Nearly 750 exhibitors were expected to sell their different tour packages to buyers who attend the event, as reported by a news agency.
Arief Yahya who is the tourism minister of Indonesia said that Indonesia plans to utilize multi sales platforms through the largest online trading agent in that country. The number of Indian tourists to Indonesia had expanded by 23% in the year 2015 from 293,415 in 2014. The figure rose to 336,575 in the initial nine months of 2016.
This was 29.35% higher as compared to the same period last year, as per the official data that was released by the ministry.
This implies that India is among the top 10 countries that contribute to the maximum visitors to Indonesia.
Vincensius Jemadu, the Deputy Minister Assistant for Asia Pacific Market Development said that Indonesia would continue with its plans to tap into the immense potential of the Indian market.
