Indonesia participates in Silk Road International Tourism Expo 2017

wonderful-indonesiaThe Tourism Ministry of Indonesia promotes their tourism brand “Wonderful Indonesia” at Xi’An Silk Road International Tourism Expo (XSRITE) 2017 from 4th August 2017 to 6th August 2017.


Xi’An Silk Road International Tourism Expo (XSRITE) 2017 is initiated by the Government of China and is being held at Qujiang International Conference & Exhibitor Centre Xian, Terracotta in China.


This international event has 500 exhibitors coming from 30 countries. The event is expected to welcome 45,000 visitors during the three-day event.

The six element of tourism which includes culinary, accommodation, transportation, travel, shopping and entertainment are the spotlights of the event.

The ministry’s deputy minister for Overseas Promotion, I Gde Pitana said that this exhibition has a huge potential to attract more tourists from China to Indonesia. This exhibition is an annual event and the biggest one in China. Here the kiosk of Indonesia is taking the B2B (business to business) promotion that is based on a pre-scheduled appointment between Indonesian and Chinese sellers and other international buyers, who are dominant in travel-trade business.

The booth attracts visitors with traditional dance performances of Indonesia, coffee a corner and games. This is also a special area dedicated for the promotion of Asian Games 2018.

In this event, the Ministry of Indonesia shares many travel related information and the policy to the layman and also promotes the Asia- Pacific tourism. The ministry has previously attended the same event last year, promoting the story of Admiral Zheng He’s voyage to 10 cities in Indonesia.

Pitana said Indonesia welcomed with an increase of 19.34 percent in its economy, by welcoming 3.52 million visitors. 1.1. million tourists  came from China itself.



Pitana also said that most Chinese tourists go to Manado and Bali mostly, according to the data of July tourism. This year, there are already 35,045 tourists from China who arrived in North Sulawesi using chartered flights from Lion Air that depart from six major cities in China.
