On Monday, ‘Wonderful Indonesia’, the tourism industry brand of Indonesia has been the proud recipient of the Best Destination Marketing Award 2016. The award has been offered by a leading travel media outlet, as per a statement released by the Tourism Ministry on Monday.
The award event was held in ‘Honorarium for the Best in Travel Industry’ in an event that was conducted in Singapore earlier during Monday.
The readers of the media outlet played a crucial role in determining the recipient of the Best Destination Marketing Award 2016, as revealed by the statement released by the Tourism Ministry.
Handayani Mustafa, the deputy assistant for marketing development in Southeast Asia said that this was quite a significant achievement for Indonesia and that the award was offered to this tourism brand as recognition of its marketing strategies of its tourist destinations.
The Wonderful Tourism brand has carried out extensive promotional campaigns ever since last year thanks to the efforts of the ministry.
WEF or World Economic Forum has ranked this tourism brand to 47 among the list of 144 countries in its Travel and Tourism Competitiveness Index this year. The leap to this rank made quite an impact, so much that it was initially categorized in Not Available (NA) position.
Indonesia aims to attract about 20 million tourists by 2019 that marks a 100% rise from the 10 million ones that the country has received in the year 2015.
The government has altered the regulations in order to attract the maximum number of tourists to the nation. For instance, they have decided to revocate cabotage for cruises that would actually enable tourists from the cruise ships to visit the various tourism locales throughout the country via authorized ports.
Apart from this, the Indonesian government has also reduced the Clearance Approval for Indonesian Territory or CAIT process for foreign yachts that plan to sail in Indonesia for 3 hours from the previous 3 weeks.
Currently, Indonesia is making efforts to develop 10 brand new tourist destinations in order to make it more attractive to foreign tourists.
The government of Indonesia has been taking measures to arrange for flight access to all such destinations. Alongside that, the ministry has also been taking initiatives to arrange for state-run hotels that can provide hospitality that reflects the Indonesian style that can encourage tourists to enjoy accommodation.
The ministry has also made arrangements for 1,00,000 homestay programs for the tourists.
