Inner Mongolia set for flower festival

According to the local culture and tourism department North China’s Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region is set to launch a series of flower festivals to boost its tourism industry.

Based on the different flower seasons cities across the autonomous region are scheduled to hold festivals.

Azaleas in May will be held in the city of Arxan of Hinggan League, June’s rape flower in Chifeng city of Harqin Banner, trollflowers in Zhenglan Banner of Xilingol League and sunflowers in August in the city of Bayannur.

To provide an enriching experience to the tourists there will be cultural activities themed on ethnic clothing and traditional cuisine.The festivals will last approximately one month each.

There are grassland, deserts, forests, ethnic customs and cultural relics in Inner Mongolia that attracts tourists from China and abroad.
