The awards were attended by 200 distinguished guests but attracted a global audience of 180,000 people through the awards social media reach, providing an opportunity for Somalis across the globe to unite.
It is the second time the awards, which are organised by The Anti-Tribalism Movement, have been held at Church House Westminster. The awards honour the achievements of the worldwide Somali community and pay tribute to inspiring success stories from all walks of life, recognising inspirational role models from the fields of business, social work, sports, education and entertainment.
The winners were
Hodan Hussein, International Somali Awards Manager, commented; “The awards are about recognising the outstanding contributions of the Somali community. Church House Westminster is one of London’s most versatile event venues. The AIM Gold accredited venue offers 19 flexible event spaces, which accommodate between 2 and 664 guests, and hosts a wide variety of events including meetings, conferences, awards ceremonies, gala dinners and receptions.
