Iran and Azerbaijan have reached a consensus on expansion of travel and tourism cooperation. The agreement was reached in a meeting between Iran’s Head of Cultural Heritage, Handicrafts and Tourism Organization Masoud Soltanifar and Azerbaijan Minister of Culture and Tourism Abulfas Garayev in Baku.
Speaking on the sidelines of the 7th Global Forum of the United Nations Alliance of Civilizations (UNAOC), Soltanifar said the sides implement joint projects in travel and tourism, conduct experience exchange, organize joint conferences, workshops and exhibitions.
The 7th Global Forum of the United Nations Alliance of Civilizations kicked off at the Baku Convention Centre in Azerbaijan on April 26.
Addressing the opening ceremony, UNAOC High Representative Nassir Abdulaziz Al-Nasser said this year’s theme “Living together in inclusive societies: a challenge and a goal” converges with the four pillars of the UN: peace and security, human rights, rule of law, and development.
The Global Forum brings together more than 2,500 participants, including heads of state and government, political officials, civil society representatives, religious and youth leaders, who will share their perspectives and solutions.
