To quote Masiollah Safa, ‘The high occupancy rate motivated hotels to offer the highest quality of services and the guests were completely satisfied. Had it not been for poor weather conditions, we believe the growth would have been closer to 20%.’
Year-on-year, Annual tourism of Kish Island is growing year-on-year with an 8 percent increase in the number of tourists. At holidays, more than 907,000 overnight stays were recorded. Hotels based on the Kish Island did not increase their prices this year unlike previous years as confirmed by Safa. Rather they are set out to improve their services as a result of increase in the occupancy rate. To quote Safa, ‘Plans were made well in advance but this would not have been made possible without the help of Kish Free Trade Zone Organization.’
This 91.5-square-kilometer resort island based in the Persian Gulf is situated south of Hormozgan Province. Kish Island has earned free trade zone status and is known as a consumer’s paradise, with plentiful shopping centers, malls, tourist attractions and resort hotels.
