Tourism Ireland has joined forces with Aer Lingus in Italy, with a brand new promotional campaign targeting people living in Rome and its hinterland. The campaign includes some 250 eye-catching poster ads in metro stations around Rome, which will be seen by about 3.2 million commuters, as well as extensive digital advertising.
A separate Tourism Ireland campaign is also under way right now on Facebook and Instagram. It will run for four weeks, reaching an estimated 7 million prospective holidaymakers, and includes three different videos highlighting the island of Ireland, the Wild Atlantic Way and Northern Ireland.
Tourism Ireland aims to ensure as much visibility as possible for the island of Ireland – both online and offline – during key booking periods for holidays and short breaks over the coming months.
Niamh Kinsella, Tourism Ireland’s Manager Italy, said: “2016 was the best year ever for tourism from Italy to Ireland, when we welcomed almost 345,000 Italian visitors, up +7% on 2015. Tourism Ireland is determined to ensure that success continues and we have an extensive programme of promotions under way in Italy in 2017. Co-operative campaigns with key partners like Aer Lingus are an important element of that programme, to boost travel to Ireland in 2017.”
