A new, ‘mobile-first’, Ireland’s Ancient East website was recently launched by Fáilte Ireland. The website is in line with Fáilte Ireland’s upcoming domestic marketing campaign for the new brand which is based on 5,000 years of Irish history within the east and south of the country.
The marketing campaign, which kicked off on Sunday (May 22), will involve significant promotion across print, broadcast and digital media and will include a dedicated sixty-second TV commercial – to be unveiled in June.
The new website provides an immersive digital presence for visitors where they can experience signature stories and uncover hidden gems along Ireland’s Ancient East.
The website includes 400 pieces of content which has been created or curated to best promote the narrative and stories located within Ireland’s Ancient East.
The website was developed with the visitor in mind, to help them enhance their holiday experience – which is why it was designed as a ‘mobile first’ website, in other words designed specifically to work best on a mobile.
Fáilte Ireland will invest a further €18m in the Ireland’s Ancient East Brand in 2016.
Speaking about the brand’s importance, Chairman of Fáilte Ireland, Michael Cawley emphasised, ““Our new destination brand, ‘Ireland’s Ancient East’, will allow us to market and leverage the unique depth and diversity of the region’s heritage assets. Storytelling is vital in making the connection with our visitors. Whether through technology, marketing or more compelling narratives, we need to substantially develop this storytelling capability around attractions in the region.”
