The City of Irvine is accepting applications for two member-at-large positions on the Irvine Senior Citizens Council. The Senior Citizens Council acts in an advisory capacity to the City Council on matters related to older adults, including the planning of facilities, transportation, services and programs, as well as the City’s Senior Strategic Plan. The Senior Citizens Council consists of seven members: five appointed by the City Council, and two member-at-large positions selected through a public recruitment process.
Applicants must reside in the City of Irvine, be 55 years or older at the time of appointment, and be willing to commit to a two-year term of active service beginning November 2017. Current and past Senior Citizens Council members are eligible to apply. Senior Citizens Council meetings are held the third Thursday of each month from 9 to 11:30 a.m. at Lakeview Senior Center.
