The hotel would have 350 rooms and 12 stories.
It would be known as the Westin Irving Convention Center at Las Colinas headquarters hotel. And, it is being planned to be a portion of a three-part destination in the region of Irving. This would include the Irving Music Factory and the Irving Convention Center.
Mayor Beth Van Duyne, the Mayor said in its official statement that right now is the best time for bringing about such a special and brand new development with regards to this hotel. He went on to add that this hotel would play a major role in fuelling the growth of their convention businesses and at the same time serve as a great addition to their ever-evolving city.
The hotel would be a welcome addition to the 5-year-old convention center that is known to host at least 305 events every year.
Also, it would usher in about 16,000 square feet of additional meeting space to Irving. The 40-acre district in the Las Colinas Urban Center in Irving is about to become a beautiful destination in the near future with the addition of the hotel. The City of Irving had offered $22.5 million in bond proceeds for the construction of the public meeting facilities owned by the city.
And, the city is also pouring in $13.7 million for creating a second public parking garage totaling 840 spaces.
The hotel is slated to be completed in 2018. Garfield Public/ Private LLC is the project developer while the project architect is Dallas-based BOKA Powell.
The Irving Music Factory is scheduled to be opened by September.
