For years, thousands of travelers across the globe have come to Israel as religious pilgrimage, as confirmed by the Ministry of Tourism of Israel. But now the tourism officials of Israel wants to depict a fresh new story to the world and persuade visitors to enjoy the mouthwatering cuisines of this Middle Eastern country.
Ministry of Israeli Tourism on the other hand considers that Chef Michael Solomonov, executive chef and co-owner of Philadelphia’s Zahav restaurant, is going to be that one person who will help tourists, especially the Americans to explore more of Israel’s culinary delights and restaurants.
Last week, a partnership happened between Israel and Chef Solomonov to draw in American journalists to Israel to indulge in various delicious dishes at the time of the two press trips guided by Solomonov. The trips will highlight ‘behind-the-scene’ image at various favorite restaurants of Solomonov across the country. Side by side, it will showcase the food culture of Israel and the manner it has modified in recent times. The tourism board is expectant that these freebie press trips actually turn into positive in terms of the food culture of Israel.
This partnership also has the continuing events at Philadelphia and other U.S. cities showcasing Chef Solomonov.
To quote Yariv Levin, Israel’s Minister of Tourism, “We feel that Chef Solomonov has an increasingly wide-ranging appeal in the U.S. He might not be the number one reason why most Americans want to visit Israel but many will certainly turn to him for advice on where to eat or learn about the best restaurants to try, etc.”
