Air India is expected to start direct flights between Delhi and Tel Aviv with three weekly flights from May onwards.
El Al Israel Airlines have been operating non-stop flights from Mumbai to Tel Aviv.
Hassan Madah, Director – India and Philippines, IMOT mentioned that there would be a brand new air connection from another Israeli carrier in the year 2018. The Aviation ministries of both these nations are in touch with each other and the airline has been pushing slots at the required airport in India.
IMOT is now aggressively making way for awareness among travellers with strong airline connections with an aim to cater to the increasing travel demand from India to Israel.
The tourism board had already rolled out new consumer campaign in print, electronic and digital mediums early this year and also plans to repeat the same process in August.
In the month of July, IMOT plans to organize a three-city that covers Bengaluru, Mumnai and Delhi.
The trade workshops would be a year-round activity. Besides, they are also in talks with film production units from Bollywood and Tollywood to organize shooting in Israel. On the visa front, IMOT is striving for easier norms for Indian nationals who are travelling in groups of five and more and shorten their visa processing time duration to five days.
The tourism board of Israel is planning to promote Eilat that is a southern Israeli port and resort town on the Red Sea.
Ramon Airport is now being constructed in Eilat and would be unveiled by April 2018. Madah also aims to increase the awareness around the vineyards and wineries in Hefer Valley, Mount Tabor, Golan and much more.
