Welcoming tourists from far and near, Istanbul has become the world’s favorite once again in event, cruise, culture and arts and wedding tourism. Istanbul will enter the top five again in event tourism, as expected by experts.
Istanbul has emerged as one of the world’s most sought-after tourism destinations currently. The city, where tourists visit from all over the world, has become a trendy spot for event and wedding tourism. With the speeding up in tourism, event venues are booked until 2023, particularly in Istanbul. Eighteen international congresses will take place in the second half of this year with 14,222 delegates expected to take part.
Meanwhile, 30 cruise ships will make an anchor in Istanbul this year. Indians, Iranians and Azerbaijanis prefer Istanbul for wedding organizations, while Russians even choose Turkey to organize birthday parties.
Istanbul will welcome 20,000 tourists on 30 cruise ships this year. With the opening of Galataport in 2020, 80 cruise ships and 250,000 tourists are expected to arrive in the city.
In the second half of this year, 18 international conventions will be held in Istanbul with the involvement of some 14,222 delegates. There would be other major events to be held as well.
