India Tourism Development Corporation or ITDC, of late has organized a Round Table of State Tourism Boards to identify possible solutions in order to promote tourism for individual states causing overall growth of the sector.
The CMD, ITDC, Mr. Ravneet Kaur presided over the session in the presence of Piyush Tiwari, Director Commercial & Marketing, ITDC; and other eminent names of the divisions. Shivdular Singh Dhillon, CEO, Punjab Heritage Tourism Promotion Board and Suman Thapa, SCS, CEO, Sikkim Tourism Development Board were some of the names among the veteran delegates who participated the meeting. In the meeting, other State Tourism Corporations/Departments which were present included states of Assam, Chhattisgarh, Gujarat, Himachal Pradesh, Rajasthan, Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Haryana, Kerala, Madhya Pradesh, and Tripura.
The main outline of the meeting was to consider and talk about the possible areas of synergies in terms of partnership between ITDC and State Tourism authorities that can capitulate as well as add to the overall development of the Indian Tourism Industry to improve convenience and overall experience of the visitors coming to India. Strategic Business Units of ITDC – Ashok Consultancy and Engineering Services, Sound and Light Show, Ashok Travels & Tours, Ashok Events, Ashok Institute of Hospitality & Tourism Management showcased the wide range of services that State Tourisms can work in association with ITDC.
