Jamaica is on the flow of gastro tourism

The Falmouth Culinary Tour has been awarded the Trip Advisor Certificate of Excellence for three years in a row for its stupendous feature of Jamaican gastro tourism.



The Falmouth Culinary Tour is a gastronomic travel event run in collaboration with Falmouth Heritage Walks.



It offers with an appetizing blend of Jamaican food and history.



The Falmouth Culinary Tour is a two-and-a-half-hour guided walking tour in the historic town of Falmouth, where the guests can take the taste of the nuggets of the local cuisine.



It has been seasoned, marinated and steeped in centuries of history. They discover what plantation life was like when sugar was King, and how the life and rhythm of the sugar plantation shaped what the people of Jamaica ate and how it was prepared.




The guests can be the savour the different local flavours of contemporary cuisine and experience through various food tastings.




The people of Jamaica have used creative cooking methods and a fusion of culinary practices from different cultures to develop dishes.



These dishes are sustained the people through slavery, colonialism, wartime and Independence.



In-between the tastings of the local cuisines, the guests view the Georgian architecture adopted from England by many plantation owners and preserved on several of the town’s buildings today.




The town of Falmouth became a thriving seaport in its heyday, and now a popular tourist hot spot in Jamaica.



Here the guests can enjoy the local fair and interaction with local vendors against the intriguing backdrop of the rich, historic features which are the cynosure of this town.



Now this food tour helps the fostering of the tourism and also the culture.




The Ministry of Tourism in Jamaica is bringing one of the pillars of food as a hallmark of Jamaican tourism, and putting Jamaica and Falmouth on the global culinary map.
