In July 2014, Pennicook had returned to the Tourist Board (JTB) of Jamaica. He was offered the authorization to go ahead and supervise the promotion of the tourism industry of Jamaica to make certain the maximum visitor arrival and growth in Jamaica’s share in the marketplace.
In a recent publication, the Jamaican Tourist Board said that Pennicook in his tenure provided maximum attention behind modernizing the board operations and to expand and intensify the partnership with other industry players.
“His strong relationships with industry partners were important to ensuring that the destination remained at the forefront of the travel industry. He served the Board previously in a similar role between 2003 and 2006,” the JTB said.
Mr. John Lynch, JTB chairman expressed his approval to Pennicook and showed his gratitude for his service and involvement with JTB and Jamaican people.
The vacancy of the Director of Tourism has been advertised and a separate search committee has been formed to find the best person to fill the post.
During the interim, Donnie Dawson, Deputy Director of Tourism, Sales, will serve as Acting Tourism Director.
