Jammu &Kashmir Tourism Department bags the award of ‘Best Adventure Tourism Destination and Eco-Tourism Destination’ in a 3-day event organised by Indian International Travel Mart, Chennai Deputy Director Tourism (Publicity Department).
The Tourism department of Jammu and Kashmir is now evolving in the tourism sector in India for the presence of many destinations. In this event, Peerzada Zahoor who was representing the Jammu & Kashmir for receiving the award confirmed the stability of political and social atmosphere in Kashmir and now this state is trying to focus on the global tourism with natural attractions.
During the Travel Mart, the stall of Jammu and Kashmir was beautifully decorated attracted huge national and international visitors mostly locals and travel agents for the leisure tourism.
Director Tourism Kashmir, Mahmood A Shah said the Tourism Department of Jammu and Kashmir is trying to tap the South Indian market who are very keen to visit Jammu & Kashmir, as Kashmir has its deep green valley and many historical & archaeological attractions.
South India is a good market for Jammu and Kashmir. The participation in Travel marts is helping the State Tourism as the State Government of Tourism is trying to drive out the misconception about the presence of terrorism among the travellers about Kashmir. During the Travel Mart, the Department of Tourism also interacted with the travel agents and tour operators who are very enthusiastic to arrange the city tours and the excursions for schools and business organisations.
While, J&K Bank’s Rural Self Employment Training Institute (RSETI) also received an award for good performance during the ‘4th RSETI Diwas’ at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi.
