Hayao MiyazakiJapan is ready to welcome a new theme park that would be inspired by the creations of Hayao Miyazaki, the famous animator instrumental for movies like ‘Princess Monoroke’, ‘Howl’s Moving Castle’ and ‘Spirited Away’.

The Oscar winner had co-founded the leading animation studio of Japan, Studio Ghibli that aims to open the new attraction in the year 2022.

The ambitious plans were declared by the regional government that said that the park would be constructed at the Expo 2015 Aichi Commemorative Park in Nagakute city that is close to Nagoya in Aichi Prefecture.

This beautiful theme park features forest trails and rides motivated by the various acclaimed animations of Miyazaki.

This 200-hectare park would be created with brick towers of European style that frequently appear in the movies of the master animator. This theme park would also feature some special spider and boar-shaped spirit installations that wonderfully illustrate the works of Miyazaki.

The main gate of the park would be designed to conjure up the 19th-century structures in Howl’s Moving Castle.

Furthermore, there are also plans to have a recreation of the antique shop from Whisper of the Heart. A Princess Mononoke Village is set to feature, as is Witch Valley, an area with Howl’s Moving Castle and Kiki’s Delivery Service-themed rides and attractions.

The Dondoko Forest area is already home to the house from My Neighbor Totoro, which was built for the 2005 World’s Fair.

There will also be the Big Ghibli Warehouse, filled with Studio Ghibli themed play areas, exhibitions and cinemas.

Projected costs for the project are yet to be disclosed.

The Studio already has a successful museum on the outskirts of Tokyo, dedicated to the art and technique of animation.
