sees decline in airline ticket

Dart Group parent of Jet2holidays and observed the yield of airline ticket going down this summer.



Philip Meeson , the executive chairman of the Dart Group said that according to the report in the preliminary result statement of 13 July 2107, there was a satisfactory start to the financial year. The leisure travel bookings grew with 41% summer 2017 seat capacity increase.



However, the board is set to meet current market expectations of underlying profit before taxation.



There is more demand for the higher margin package holidays products. Holiday customer numbers increased slightly as a proportion of the total departing customers.



He further added that the new Stansted and Birmingham airport operating bases are proving themselves popular. It has over 1.3 million passengers booking flight with this summer, 50% among them chose package holiday with Jet2holidays.



The airline ticket yield was lower than that achieved in summer 2016 but the overall board expected the group to meet the current market expectations of underlying profit before taxation for the year ending March 2018.
