Flight LS917 had taken off from Manchester around 9.20 a.m. yesterday morning and a short while after the plane had touched down on this Spanish holiday island, the witnesses could hear a very ‘loud bang’. One of them, Emily Hollands posted a tweet later mentioning how ‘everything’ was delayed as a consequence of the landing.
A teenager Rachael Madigan described her terror as after the plane ‘bounced down the runway’ during the abrupt landing with damaged tyres. The tyres used to touch down the runway appeared to have suffered an unexpected damage that led to the sudden landing.
The overhead lockers inside the aircraft where the in-flight luggage is stored popped open and heavy luggage started raining down on startled passengers.
A spokesperson for the airline stated that all the flight passengers disembarked the plane normally and were transferred to the terminal.
They said that it was confirmed that Flight LS917 that was travelling from Manchester to Tenerife made a landing and as it did so, it confronted with tyre damage at Tenerife South Airport.
The airline issued an official apology to the passengers due to the incident.
