Speaking on the occasion, Minister of State for Tourism Priya Sethi said that the Government of India has come up with a unique connectivity scheme named UDAN or “Ude Desh ka Har Nagarik” for efficient regional air connectivity, where a traveller can reach to the unexplored but equally beautiful tourist destinations like Gurez, Zanaskar, Badarwah, Poonch and Rajouri regions and also Vaihsno Devi via helicopter services.
Priya Sethi invited the youth of Bangalore to J&K urging them to “unwind in the pristine beauty of the state”. She said, “Bangalore is an IT hub and you are in the world of technology and remain busy with only technology. We invite you to J&K where you can rejuvenate yourself and come back to your place with fresh energy.”
The seminar is a part of a series of roadshows organized by the department of tourism to promote J&K as the choicest and safe destination to travellers from South India.
There has been a surge in the tourist flow to Kashmir from South India which has encouraged the department to reach out to the travellers from the region. She also invited business houses of the state for holding conferences, conventions and board meetings in J&K saying that the state has world class facilities for MICE tourism.
Secretary Tourism Sarmad Hafeez said, “Due to the recent snowfall Gulmarg is fully packed with tourists and others should not miss the chance to visit the beautifully snow-covered mountains.” He also said that Jammu and Kashmir Tourism Development Corporation was offering 50% discount on its all properties for the travellers.
