John Stevenson from Balloch and working with Experience Scotland’s Wild, has been recognised at the Scottish Thistle Awards regional final for the West, which took place at Glasgow’s Science Centre.
This year marks the 25th anniversary of the Scottish Thistle Awards, which celebrates success, innovation, excellence and best practice in the country’s tourism and hospitality industry.
John was named Tourism & Hospitality Hero for his work with Experience Scotland’s Wild.
The award celebrates an individual on the front line of the customer service experience. From tour guides to front of house staff, this award recognises those who provide exceptional service and a memorable and personal touch.
Judges described John as “an excellent example of pride in work and country. Someone who has achieved a huge amount in the last year, working collaboratively with Local Authorities, businesses and Destination Management Organisations to provide exceptional customer service for his guests – and improve the local communities he works in. ”
John will now go on to represent West Dunbartonshire, and the wider West region, at the glittering national final of the Scottish Thistle Awards at the EICC in Edinburgh next March.
