John Wayne Airport Posts March 2016 Statistics

John Wayne AirportAirline passenger traffic at John Wayne Airport increased in March 2016 as compared with March 2015. In March 2016, the Airport served 907,005 passengers, an increase of 9.0% when compared with the March 2015 passenger traffic count of 832,213.

Commercial aircraft operations increased 12.4% and commuter aircraft operations decreased 60.8% when compared with March 2015 levels.

Total aircraft operations increased in March 2016 as compared with the same month in 2015. In March 2016, there were 24,421 total aircraft operations (take-offs and landings), a 9.6% increase compared to 22,286 total aircraft operations in March 2015.

General aviation activity, which accounted for 68.7% of the total aircraft operations during March 2016, increased 10.0% when compared with March 2015.

The top three airlines in March 2016 based on passenger count were Southwest Airlines (446,452), American Airlines (138,869) and United Airlines (107,483).
