Prime Minister Hani Mulki said on Saturday that government is dedicated in dealing with various obstructions in terms of medical tourism and to taking the essential steps to improve the industry’s performance.
Encouraging more financial investments, expansion of the industry and signing better international contracts and collaborations that can build on achievements and successes are the main initiations to develop the performance of medical tourism as mentioned in his remarks at the Global Healthcare Travel Forum (GHTF).
His Majesty King Abdullah highlighted the sector of medical tourism as one of the major contributors to the economy of the country. However, he accepted the fact that the sector is undergoing several challenges due to its constant regional unrest. In association with the Private Hospitals Association (PHA) along with the Global Healthcare Travel Council (GHTC), the forum is a great platform to meet, network and strengthen cooperation in the field of medical tourism. Also, the forum is in search for excellent medical tourism stakeholders across the world. The forum or the conference started on Saturday with 500 participations from 40 countries. The theme was ‘’Globalization of Healthcare”. The event is also scheduled to host the GHTC general assembly meeting.
