However, of late, the brand new trend of ‘meditation tourism’ is luring a large number of youth tourism professionals to explore this part of the world. Meditation tourism was introduced way back in 2014 in Jordan by the Jordan Meditation Club (JMC). The founder of JMC, Nyazi Shaaban is a yoga and meditation expert.
Shaaban said that he had always harboured the idea of transforming Jordan as one of the world’s leading hub for meditation tourism.
He added that now his dream has materialized and therefore it is working quite well with all the tourism professionals arriving here and also tourists. He feels that Jordan is blessed with several locations that have immense potential to be spiritual, particularly the places like Wadi Rum, Petra and the Dead Sea.
Shaaban said that they have been collaborating with certified yoga practitioners and soul healers for this purpose.
He has added that Jordan is ready to explore the idea of meditation as a fantastic tourism product. In fact his club has already started organizing meditation tours more than two years ago. He proudly said that their club had 50 foreigners visiting them, most of whom were females.
They accept a maximum of 50 people per class.
Different programs are offered over a day or two in March, April, May, September, October and November.
Since 2016, tourism in Jordan has gained momentum and also in the first quarter of 2017. As many as 48,724 tourist groups visited the nation in the initial two months of this year as compared to 26,500 groups in the same period last year.
The various destinations in Jordan are just perfect for engaging in meditation and yoga.
Jordan offers a great opportunity to be in close connection with the different elements of nature.
