Available from Chinoiserie on 2 December, the tea was designed by master patissier and star of Channel 4’s Baking Mad series Eric Lanlard. He worked closely with the hotel’s Executive Chef Simon Young to create this enchanting afternoon tea.
Choose from delectable festive treats such as a cinnamon spiced brioche with chicken liver parfait, chestnuts and red onion marmalade and a bridge roll filled with whiskey smoked salmon and egg mayonnaise.
For those with a sweeter tooth, guests can indulge in an eggnog trifle shot with mulled wine jelly, spicy cranberry compote, eggnog custard and smooth mascarpone cream and a rich chocolate and orange liquor pop cake with a surprise centre – decorated to look like a traditional Christmas pudding.
Eric Lanlard said: “The build-up to Christmas is always an exciting time for me. As a pastry chef it means it’s back to using all the lovely rich flavours and scents linked to this happy time of the year. I can’t imagine anything better than taking a bit of time off during this busy period and sharing a chic afternoon tea with friends and loved ones.
”Chinoiserie at Jumeirah Carlton Tower provides the perfect backdrop for afternoon tea with its sophisticated décor and soothing music played by the resident harpist. Following a recent extension, there is now a more intimate area within Chinoiserie named the Jasmine area, an ideal venue for those wishing to host a business meeting, hold a family event or informal get-together with friends.
The festive afternoon tea by Eric Lanlard is available at Chinoiserie from 2 December 2013 throughout the Christmas season and costs £40 per person; £50 per person with a glass of champagne or £55 with a glass of rosé champagne.
