‘Friturier’ stems from traditional French culinary terminology and commonly signifies a cook who is an essential part of the kitchen hierarchy. The Jumeirah Vittaveli Friturier will serve guests at Bar-EE – the resort’s main bar adjacent to the pool – every day from 5-6pm, when guests can enjoy 2 for 1 ‘Sundowners’ while admiring the colourful Maldivian sunset.
The Friturier menu will include snacks such as tempura vegetable with wasabi mayonnaise, jalapeno peppers, and prawn arancini. Guests can choose from a select menu of classic and modern cocktails during this time.
Guests may also enjoy 2 for 1 after dinner drinks during ‘Unwinders’ from 9-11pm. The menu then will include more refined beverages with ingredients such as Cognac and aged Single Malts.
Francis Cornelious, Executive Sous Chef, said: “We are excited to introduce this traditional cooking concept to our guests in the Maldives in an entirely fresh and innovative way – the Friturier will delight our guests at Jumeirah Vittaveli with new twists to the bar fare. We continuously strive to exceed expectations with our culinary offerings here, and are proud to have been proven successful with two recent awards – ‘Best French Cuisine in Maldives’ and ‘Best Indian Cuisine in Asia’ at the World Luxury Restaurant Awards™.”
Jumeirah Vittaveli offers luxury romantic escapes and indulgent family retreats, as well as a host of land- and water-based activities, including a PADI Dive base, water sports centre, four restaurants and two bars, Kuda Koli Kids’ Club with family pool, and a Talise Spa with overwater and garden treatment rooms.
