Lately, the Curaçao Tourist Board or CTB has published reports of visitors increase from all the source markets. The Netherlands, Germany, United States of America, Canada, Brazil, Colombia and Suriname performed good in June of this year. Regardless of the positive performance of all the targeted markets, June performed low by 3%. The month witnessed 760 fewer registrations of the visitors bringing the total count to 27,957 visitors in comparison to 28,717 in the same month of 2016.
The drop in visitor number is because of the reason that influx of visitors from Venezuela kept on influencing overall arrivals. In June, a total decrease of 46% has been registered so far. If we look back, in 2016 we estimated almost 3,939 Venezuelans. On the contrary, a total of 2,113 has been are welcomed in Curaçao.
In June, the European region showed 7 percent increase, estimating a total of 12,937 Europeans to Curaçao. From Europe, the market total share in arrivals has been calculated 46% at present The Netherlands saw a 5% growth in June this year as 10,175 Dutch visitors were calculated 2017. In June, Germany witnessed 34% growth of this year with a total of 1,489 German visitors were welcomed.
North America saw a growth of 8% visitors in June 2017 with a total of 5,988 registered North American visitors so far. North Americans represent 21% of all the visitors in the month of June 2017.
