All passenger trains which are scheduled to run on Kanpur-Tundla route have been cancelled and more than 40 trains were diverted after the derailment in Wednesday morning.
Most of the passenger trains and the express trains have been cancelled which include the Kanpur-New Delhi Shatabdi Express, the Lucknow-Agra Cantt.Intercity express, the Lucknow-New Delhi Gomti Express along with all other North Indian passenger trains which running on the Kanpur-Tundla section.
The NCR Chief PRO GK Bansal said that there are around 74 people suffering injuries and the stranded passengers including some of the tourists are taken to Delhi in another train for the treatment.
GK Bansal also added that an Accident Relief Train (ART) train has reached to the spot for rerailment of the Kaifiyat Express. The railway line will soon be operational after the rerailment was over.
The Principal Secretary (Home) Arvind Kumar said that the rescue operation is now over and around 74 passengers received injuries, of which four are currently critical. IN the first phase of the evacuation there were around 21 people received injuries, now the toll increased up to 74.
An NDRF team has been sent to the spot of the train derailment for rescue operations.
The Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu tweeted that senior officials have been directed to reach the accident site immediately for the betterment of the evacuation process.
Auraiya Superintendent of Police, Sanjeev Tyagi confirmed the number of injuries.
