Geir Karlsen is appointed as the chief financial officer with Norwegian after the low-cost carrier reorganised its management team.
He earlier held the position of group chief financial officer at the London-based shipping company Navig8 Group and holds extensive experience from listed companies within shipping and offshore.
Karlsen is looking forward to becoming a part of the top management at one of Norway’s most international growth companies and spur growth.
He said that Norwegian has become an internationally renowned airline with an existing fleet of more than 140 aircraft and a pending order of more than an additional 200. Aviation has strong competition, and he wished that his background and experience will contribute to further development.
Karlsen has over 12 years of experience as chief financial officer with international companies such as Golden Ocean Group and Songa Offshore.
Norwegian chief executive Bjørn Kjos was pleased with Geir Karlsen appointment.
