Dr. N Manjula, I.A.S., Director, Department of Tourism, Government of Karnataka shared an exclusive interview with Travel And Tour World in ITB Berlin 2017.
Karnataka tourism is going to observe 2017 as the year of the wild. It will celebrate the wildlife and the adventure tourism section. The state has its own properties of about nineteen Jungle Lodges & Resorts and is promoting these destinations for enjoying the wildlife. In addition, the adventure tourism section is widely celebrated by promoting rock climbing, trekking and eco trails. The reason for naming 2017 as the year of the wild is because the huge IT crowd from Bengaluru seek for adventure tourism. so aero sports, cycling, trekking, marathon etc. are widely popular amongst the domestic travellers.
Karnataka tourism is recently going to sign a MoU with National Geographic Channel which will release a series of episodes depicting not only the wildlife part but also the other aspects of tourism in Karnataka.
