Bengaluru Football Club now has a goal of placing India on world football map. The Department of Tourism along with Bengaluru Football Club will uphold Bengaluru as a sports destination targeting the youth and sports lovers. It has the potential of developing Bengaluru as a premier sports destination on the same lines as Madrid, Liverpool, Manchester and Munich which are home to Real Madrid CF, LiverpoolFC, Manchester United FC and FC Bayern Munich FC, respectively.
To quote Hon’ble Minister for IT, BT & Tourism Priyank Kharge, “Bengaluru as a city offers you a growing sports culture and the only city in India that can match the European cities especially in terms of footballing culture and fans. The Department of Tourism plans to promote Bengaluru as a sports destination. The co-promotional programme, with one of the most followed domestic football clubs in India comprises both Indian and foreign footballers this will definitely create a positive impact on tourist footfalls in Bengaluru .
BFC is as good as brand ambassador for us. We are also coming up with a Bengaluru app very soon for checking events, hotels, main attractions and for all the football games.” BFC takes part in the I-League, AFC Champions League and AFC Cup. The club is focused in shaping the future of Indian football. BFC has played in Singapore, Malaysia, Myanmar, Laos, Maldives, Qatar and Indonesia in the past and shall be playing in Jordan, Bangladesh, Maldives and possibly UAE this year.
