The tourism department of Karnataka has a big plan for the promotion of tourism for all the travelers-especially air travellers.
Recently, a tender is issued by the tourism department says that, it plans to put up the tourism advertisements on the fuselage of domestic aircraft with a carrying capacity of more than 150 passengers.
To begin with, advertisements will be displayed on one aircraft for one year. The department will display the advertisement to those flights which is operational heavily. The domestic air carrier should operate 1,460 flight trips a year.
The advertisements will also be displayed in the luggage bins of aircraft. The tourism promotional brochures will be inserted in passenger seat pockets and tourism magazines will be brought out for a period of one year for air-passengers. The tourism department also will endorse tourism on the social media websites also.
The State Tourism Minister Priyank Kharge said that they are exploring the possibilities of advertising Karnataka. They have a plan to spend Rs 37 crore to promote on tourist destinations at Metro stations for the next five to six years. The advertisements have been displayed at various national and international airports in the country and also at the Delhi Metro Stations. Now they are also exploring the aircraft livery advertisements to attract air passengers, which can enhance the air travellers to come. The tourism department is now studying the feasibility in the promotion of the tourism destinations in and around Bengaluru.
The Tourism Department in Bengaluru has also issued a tender to opt for the airline operator, who has a fleet of 10 aircraft. The airline operators must have flights to at least five out of the 10 major airports at major Indian cities such as Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Chennai, Kolkata, Hyderabad, Kochi, Goa, Pune and Ahmedabad.
