Kay England, has been appointed as the new vice chair of the Meeting Industry Association (MIA). Being a long time supporter of the Mia, Kay has earlier held a position in the MIA council for five years and was a key person in Imago bagging the AIM Gold status.
She is currently the director of campus services at Loughborough University and chief executive of Imago, Loughborough University’s award-winning hotel conference and event management company.
Kay mentioned in a statement that she loves working and is passionate about working in higher education and hospitality industry. She feels enthusiastic about her new role and believes that her extensive experience in leadership will bring about a quality driven culture that will deliver the best to the industry and will benefit in the long run.
She is a leading hospitality professional with over 25 years of experience. She had earlier headed Burleigh Court and the Link Hotel, Holywell Park as the chief executive of Imago.
As director of campus services, Kay was responsible for circa 6,000 student bedrooms, catering and environments and sustainability on campus.
Mark Chambers stated that Kay will be able to drive the company in a structured manner having a great experience in the meetings industry. She will be able to add strategic value to MIA executive board in the years to come, and the entire team is delighted to welcome.
