Fresh data from KAYAK’s 2018 Travel Forecast has revealed that Canadian tourists and trendsetters are looking forward for adventure in 2018 and that nine out of the leading ten trending destinations witnessing the highest rise in interest year over year are outside of Canada.
Cartagena in Colombia have topped this year’s trending list with a 58% rise in travel searches year over year.
Though Bogota had grabbed the tenth spot last year thanks to increased flight routes, record low crime rates and a booming economy are making Cartagena a must-visit for savvy jetsetters.
Destinations like Bali, Osaka, Phuket and the Maldives have also topped this year’s list of trending destinations for Canadians.
David Solomito, VP NA brand marketing, KAYAK mentioned that flying inside of Canada might cost tourists a small fortune and maybe due to this reason they have been witnessing less Canadians travelling domestically as seemingly they are hopeful about travelling to alternative destinations where they can maximize their time off as they get the best return for their money.
