Kenya will be hosting the 2018 World Skal Congress, as announced by its national government. Mombasa has been confirmed as the host of this Congress. Tourism Cabinet Secretary Najib Balala said that earlier they lost this right in 2015 due to security reasons, but now they are well prepared to host such events in 2018.
Skål International is the world’s biggest travel and tourism organization with more than 20,000 senior travel and tourism executives. It promotes global tourism, uniting all branches of the travel and tourism industry.
Sam Ikwaye, Kenya Association of Hotelkeepers and Caterers coast branch executive officer was happy with this news and said, “We now have adequate time to prepare as the host city and deliver an exceptional experience to the world.”
