An international flight from the Kenya Airways had to make an emergency landing at the airport in Nairobi on 19th July, Tuesday. The flight initially took off from Mumbai in India with almost 150 passengers onboard. The emergency landing was followed by a ruptured tyre in the main landing gear.
The Kenyan Airlines flight KQ 205 took off from Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport in Mumbai at 6.35 am local time.
As soon as the Mumbai Air Traffic Control (ATC) spotted pieces of tyre after the Kenya Airlines flight took off, they warned the pilot of the flight about it.
The pilot of the Boeing decided to make an emergency landing at Nairobi.
The flight commander performed a low pass initially, in order to check the status of the tyre, and then he landed the flight skilfully on the second attempt.
All the 150 passengers and the crew members were reported to be safe during the landing.
The officials later found out that the faulty landing gear got shredded after the emergency landing.
None of the officials from Kenya Airways issued any statement regarding the matter.
